iPhone aint to big on Voice Commands but I think that will be coming in the 3.0 software update. Windows Mobile (AH!) 6.5 will be coming with a application called TellMe, from the site I really like what it has to offer. You open it up and basically can tell it to get weather in Phoenix, or check up on your flight, or call a certain contact or text somone

as you can see from the above screenshots how it basically works and you can get more info on the site (click here)

Is there an App on the iPhone for TellMe?
I searched and all that came up was an app called "Quick Info" and its an app but only one tab is TellMe, It also comes with Goog411, and windows live mobile search its $0.99 in the App Store

App Review: Flight Control

App name pretty much explains what the main idea is in this app LOL makes it easy on me!

Flight control is $0.99 in the App Store, and to me Definitely worth it. The app's main goal is to touch and hold on a aircraft and make the aircraft go into its correct location by drawing the line in order to get them there. It involves 4 aircraft including helicopter's and such. The ironic thing is the game is so simple and easy yet it give you, or at least me, a few hours of fun LOL.

Once you open the app, it give you options such as Play, Stats (in there you can be promoted to certain crews, explain a little more later), and such. The main one is obviously play, and you already got the main point of the game, and it does involve strategy LOL, By this I mean like trying to figure out which plane is going where, where you can draw the line to make them go. It also involves you trying to figure out if the aircraft is gonna crash or so, the game does get harder obviously cause as soon as you've leanded about 20 aircraft or so, you get the really bigger, faster airplanes that move faster than the little ones. As you can imagine as soon as you've landed 50 or 70 of these things, and as you have about 5 of the big ones but also 4 helicopters, and 6 of the yellow aircrafts, and 3 other airplanes, it does get hard trying to control them, trying to land them as fast as you can so you have less to deal with. It does get hard i'll admit I've had this game for about 2 weeks or approaching it and I only have a score of 76 aircraft landed I'll update this post if I get to 100 :D.

But in conclusion for only a buck, you can't beat it. It'll keep you entertained, and happy with your purchase. I've bought games and deleted them after a week or so of beating it or getting bored with it, but I'll admit I just cannot do that with this one. Its on my homescreen I play it everytime I'm bored or just have a minute to spare, I just simply love it. It's a great concept and the developer made it happen in a very fun way. I even love the music that plays as you start it haha. So if you havent picked up yet once again its in the App Store for $0.99 and you can't beat it, its really fun. Take my word, I gurantee you'll love it as much as I do! :)

App Review: Picture Safe 2 - Keep Those Snoopy Eyes out of Your Pictures!

0

Written on 2:42 PM by irockish

Ok well I'm a Guy, and I know every guy has to have some sort of pictures they dont want other people, friends, or just whoever looking around through their picture, right? Well I am one of those guys haha. So I was browsing through the App Store, looking for an app that could do just that

So I found Picture Safe 2 by collect3, and I read the sidebar information and this had mainly caught my eye

Even we have had been suprised at the wide range of uses you guys are finding for Pciture Safe! We've had emails from

Parents (safeguarding children)
Males 18-85 (no suprise there) Teens (obviously)
Suprising Number of females(we choose to imagine the possibilities)

Anyone else suprised at the 85 yr old using this app?! LOL, I am!
I am in the Males 18-85 category LOL, So I'm like why not give it a try?

Looks Of the App:
It looks like a real secure App, has the whole picture of the vault going on as a splash screen and as the icon. and first when you open the app you have to choose your 4-digit password and then it takes you to the Photo application looking screen. Looks familiar right? Just like the Photo App that came with your iPhone.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

UI:
Like I said in the previous paragraph its real easy to use its simple yet effective. Its looks just like the stock Photo application, except if you look in the top right corner you'll see the icon for settings. The whole app runs really nice, its simple to get nothing to hard that requires you to go looking on there site for help or stuff, The only thing it does take some time to import them to the library
Photobucket

Features:
We got a few features to get through here so lets get started, as you can see in the screen shots you can see options for changing you PIN, having it enabled, this is just changing your password and stuff. Then you can have Wi-Fi access to access them from your computer without it being connected, nice feature right! Then you get the "Photos" option, this basically tells the app where to get your pictures when your adding pics to your albums, its album by default which it will probably stay, at least for me. Then you get slideshow, you guys are familiar with this, playing each photo for 3-15 seconds and such, transitions, repeats and shuffling, basic stuff. Then you get privacy settings, my FAV feature of the app. for starters you get Snoop Stopper: this is cool! Say you have one of those naggy friends that you really dont keep stuff from and there like c'mon let me see them and blah blah blah, well this allows you to create a DIFFERENT Pin and when they enter that one in, it takes them to a whole 'nother album! By default it will have 'Downloaded Pics' with pics of the ocean and stuff from there, in there you can also edit/delete/add pics and albums. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FEATURE, Good Job Guys! The next one is Quick Hide. Let me paint another picture for you, Say your sitting in the front seat of the car and some friends are in the back and there looking over every now and then, this lets you double tap anywhere and another picture will pop-up, thats right! One minute Sexy picture from girlfriend, the next?! Batman Logo (thats what I have it set to LOL) Another great feature. The Last is Security Log, this tells you who got in and if they were succesful and stuff. Look at the Screenies

Photobucket

Photobucket

Conclusion?
I love it. I dont like the time it takes to import but other than that its safe and secure, exactly what I was looking for. It's $2.99 in the App Store, kind of eh, but if you need somewhere to hide those pics, this is your APP! I love the security feautures of it the double tapping, the different PIN different Album whoever came up with that is genius! I have no regrets and only hope that importing gets speedy within the next few updates.

I just saw that after about 2 weeks in a contest for the 1 billionth (?) app download, it's finally over. One lucky person has won about 13,000 "dollas" in apple goodies. A MacBook pro. 32 gb iPod touch 2nd gen. A $10,000 iTunes gift card ( :0 ).

If I won I'd sell the card, sell the touch. And keep the macbook. And get me a brand new 16 gb iPhone 3G :). YEAH!!!

Nice job apple. You keep on surpising me haha

App of the Week: Dictionary.com

0

Written on 10:08 PM by irockish

Now this is gonna be short sweet and to the point. I'm obviously writing this from my iPhone so I don't want to do too much typing

Dictionary.com is an app in the app store (duh) and it's awesome! It provides the iPhone or iPod touch with a dictionary! You wanna hear the best part? It doesn't require a INTERNET CONNECTION! Now this is a really big download. So it's best you do it on iTunes or if it's a must use a Wi-Fi connection. This app is putting thousands of words in your phone/iPod so yeah it's best for a fast connection.

Features? It's like a t9 system as soon as you start searching. Very convienient. It's FREE as well! So what are you waiting for? GO GRAB IT!!!

App Review: Bookworm

0

Written on 9:59 PM by irockish

Ok so here is my first review its on a App called "Bookworm"

What kinda Game is it?
Bookworm is a word game. There are two options to start new games. One is "Classic" and one is "Timed". Its not rocket science so I think you can figure it out. If you can't let me explain, Classic is the easiest of the two. In classic your just trying to put words of 3 letters or more together. The more letters the better. You try to this for as long as you can without letting the library burn up into flames. How do I keep it from burning? Some of the letters that come down are red and in flames. You must use these letters before they hit the bottom. If they hit the bottom, the library burns, and we dont want that! LOL

Is it Worth the Price?
Bookworm is $4.99 in the App Store. My personal opinion? if it was maybe $2.99 maybe even $3.99. I purchased it, and im content with my purchase. Maybe in the future updates there will be another option in starting a game. If your a fan of these you'll really enjoy it. It does come with some challenges especially in Timed!

Conclusion?
$4.99 for this game is a little expensive, but if your interested don't let me influence you. Go ahead with the Purchase, I enjoyed it and play it every other day when I'm not doing anything or waiting for the bus or something. Its fun, entertaining, and helps with expanding your Vocabulary. Funny thing is this app taught me about 50 words that I never knew existed haha! Go figure. Let me know in comments or email what you thought about it!

Beats By Dre Review

0

Written on 4:36 PM by irockish

Okay well if your big on music I'm sure you've heard about the Beats by Dr. Dre. Now these headphones are priced at $350.00, yes that was not a type. Your probably like why so much? I really don't know why? BUT! Lemme Tell you this, they are REALLY good. My friend bought them yesterday, and I got to try them out today.

First off. Looks? Sexy. The beautiful red and black combo make them really pop out and stand out and a logo so simple with the small "b", really sexy. They look good and feel great on the head and hands

Sound Quality? Best I have ever heard. EVER! I put them on and started bumping all types of music. You name it, it sounds good! haha. Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B..Everything! The bass is on point thanks the Monster, the manufacturer of the headphones (Dre just designed em haha).

Another good thing for all the iPhones out there is the cord out there for the mic if you have an iPhone!

Some Pro's and Cons

Pros

  • Fit on the ear perfectly
  • They fold up on the sides
  • Comes with case and pouch for cord
  • Sexy!
  • BEAUTIFUL sound quality
  • iPhone Mic
  • Feels like a good, durable product
Cons
  • Price :( .. $350.00
  • Charging battery
Final conclusion? Now if these headphones were priced around $200 - $275? I would def buy them. But unfortunately there not! If you can get a good deal on craigslist or eBay, Snatch em Up!

These are definetly some Beasts!

UPDATE: Apple.com sells the Beats for $299 plus shipping. Should be around $322? or so!

Have an iPhone 3G with 2.2.1 but want to use T-Mobile?

Written on 9:05 PM by irockish

Hope has finally answered the call! There's new software out for the iPhone to downgrade the Baseband back to 2.28 to use with yellowsn0w! (click for more info) Now the only that sucks is that if you have Bootloader 5.8. If your iPhone was manufactured before September 2008, you’re good. But if you bought it after then from what I read you are stuck with the option of having to use TurboSim which isnt bad! but still software unlocks are still better! Now if you are one of these people I highly recommend as I have bought from this seller on eBay is "ztb_888" (<-click). I purchased a Turbo Sim from him and works perfect! Internet and all!

More info on the baseband 2.30 downgrade here!
